About Me

In the world of coffee connoisseurs, I’d probably rank closer to the bottom of the food chain.  Some of you might compare me to being a diesel engine that takes a long time to heat up and perform at its best, or some could say that I’m a late bloomer, naïve to the art of coffee making until a later stage in life. Whatever word or phrase you use, it boils down to me being a certified “newbie” in the field.

So why write about coffee? Why not write something I have more experience at, let’s say… exercises to tone the body or trending apps in the Apple or Android market?

Well that’s actually a good question, and honestly, one that even I fail to answer. I guess it’s more of a feeling for me- the feeling one gets when you get to smell a good cup of coffee. It’s probably the love of drinking coffee.

Yes, coffee is something I look forward to when i wake up and many times throughout the day. I try limit my intake to 2 to 3 cups daily, but sometimes fail miserably.

So in essence, we could say that there is a deep passion in me for coffee, and that’s why I would really like to write about it.

Interestingly enough, for all this time I’ve been drinking coffee (give or take 10 years), I thought that I already knew what good coffee was… that was until I made a coffee pot with beans that originated from Ethiopia and were brewed in the Saudi Arabia. From that cup, I tasted a distinct nutty and fruity flavor in the beverage!

Imagine how astonished I was with this new sensation! I had to know more about how to make it again. And this led me in this journey – the start of a journey to know the different types of coffee, the different tastes, roasts, equipment, and ways of making the “perfect cup” of coffee, as we all say.

I think it’s important at this point to tell everyone that i am no connoisseur. I am a simple person who drinks his simple coffee everyday. And I will continue to be that simple person who will probably be enjoying his blended coffee beans for a long time ahead. That being said, I will still go and buy to try out some specialty coffee to give myself a treat every once in a while, and make sure to have a huge smile on my face every time I brew one of these exquisite cups.

I invite you to join me in this journey to explore the world of home brewing coffee as our own pioneers! And for those who have already blazed the trail ahead of us; and also the connoisseurs, I hope you guys would be willing to guide and point us in the right direction in this venture.

Thank you everyone for reading this page. I’ll see you all on the other pages of this site!

Very nice story, I say we have similar story but I don’t write my own coffee expereince. It feels great drinking home brewed, hand crafted coffee. Nice blog btw.

That’s cool Randyl. I started this blog just to share my experience. I quickly found out it was not as easy to maintain, but I post here ever so often. This is more of a hobby blog now. Since I was blessed to have a variety of coffee some through my door. I bought the grinder and a dripper to begin with and never looked back. Sometimes, I don’t drink coffee when I’m outside so I could just have one at home. It’s sounds crazy, but it’s all worth it.

Thanks for commenting on my blog Randyl. I have this feeling that you know more than I do already. If you fancy it, you should start a blog too. I’m sure a lot of people will look at it. Tell me when you decide on making one and I’ll be your first follower 🙂
